Parikrama
Sacred route
The Govardhan Parikrama is one of the most sacred walks in Hinduism — a 21 km circumambulation of the divine hill that Lord Krishna lifted with his little finger to shelter the people of Braj. Every step of the route passes through sacred sites, ancient temples and spots connected to Krishna's divine leelas.
Our certified Govardhan parikrama guides know every darshan stop on the route — from the starting point at Mukharbind to Manasi Ganga, Dan Ghati, Govinda Kund, the sacred kundas of Radha and Krishna, Kusum Sarovar and Jatipur Peeth. They provide rich spiritual narration at each site, ensuring the parikrama is a deeply enriching experience and not merely a physical walk.
For devotees who cannot complete the full 21 km walk, we also offer modified Govardhan darshan tours by vehicle covering all the major sacred stops.
Our guides cover all major darshan stops on the 21 km Govardhan Parikrama route — with full narration of the divine leelas at each sacred site.

A sacred lake created by the mind-born Ganga from Krishna's heart — surrounded by ghats and temples, especially beautiful during Diwali.
The site where Krishna playfully demanded a toll (dan) from the gopis — a beloved leela immortalised in this hilltop temple.
The sacred kund where Indra bathed Krishna after acknowledging his surrender — a deeply significant site on the Parikrama route.
One of the holiest kundas in all of Braj — the bathing pond of Radha Rani, considered equal in divinity to Krishna himself.
Adjacent to Radha Kund — the bathing kunda of Lord Krishna himself. Bathing here on Radhashtami is believed to be supremely auspicious.
A magnificently stepped reservoir surrounded by elegant royal chatris — where Radha gathered flowers for Krishna's garlands.
An important religious seat on the Parikrama route associated with the Vallabha sampradaya tradition of Govardhan worship.
The sacred hill lifted by Krishna to shelter the people of Braj from Indra's rain — the divine hill itself is worshipped as a deity.

Govardhan Parikrama is a sacred circumambulation of Govardhan Hill — the mountain Lord Krishna lifted with his little finger to shelter the people of Braj from Indra's devastating rain. The Parikrama covers 21 km and passes through Mukharbind, Manasi Ganga, Dan Ghati, Radha Kund, Shyam Kund, Kusum Sarovar and other sacred sites.
Walking the complete 21 km Govardhan Parikrama typically takes 5–8 hours depending on pace and number of stops. With our guide, you spend meaningful time at each darshan point. Devotees who cannot walk the full route can also do the shorter dandavat (prostration) parikrama over 2–3 days, which our guides also assist with.
Radha Kund is considered one of the holiest sites in all of Braj — even more sacred than Vrindavan itself according to many Vaishnava traditions. It is the bathing pond of Radha Rani, created by her own hand after Krishna slew Aristasura. Bathing in Radha Kund on Radhashtami is considered the most auspicious act in Braj pilgrimage.
Yes. We have guides experienced in leading elderly devotees and those with physical limitations through a modified Govardhan darshan route — visiting the key sacred sites by vehicle or e-rickshaw rather than walking the complete 21 km on foot. Please inform us of any mobility requirements when booking.
October to March is the best time for Govardhan Parikrama when the weather is cool and comfortable. Starting early — by 5–6 AM — is strongly recommended to complete the parikrama before the afternoon heat. Govardhan Annakut (the day after Diwali) is the most auspicious day for the Parikrama, but requires advance booking due to very high demand.
Govardhan is approximately 22 km from Mathura and 25 km from Vrindavan. Auto-rickshaws, taxis and local buses connect these cities to Govardhan. Many pilgrims include Govardhan as part of a combined Braj yatra with Mathura and Vrindavan in the same trip.
For the full 21 km Govardhan Parikrama: comfortable walking shoes, modest clothing, a water bottle, light snacks, and sunscreen. Our guide will advise you on what to carry based on the season, the duration of your parikrama, and your specific health requirements.
Our Govardhan guide services start from ₹700 for a half-day darshan tour. The complete Govardhan Parikrama guide service is priced based on duration and group size. Contact us for a personalised quote.
